The Damaged And Broken Collection

The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.”

― Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms

If "plans" went as intended, I would have had a full-time doc in my office and be semi-retired. Yet, after a series of misdiagnosises, and a post-op infection that almost killed me --- I ended up left with nothing more than a damaged life and broken dreams.

I have given up on dreams and now try to focus on the moment.

My experiences are what have led me to write the series of stories that now dominate my free time. The truth is there are more of us who life has damaged, than there are those it has not. To demonstrate that not everyone recovers, and not every ending is the bullshit happiness displayed on reality television or on social media, I present --- The Damaged and Broken Collection.

A series of stories which are hard looks into the psyche of those who are damaged and some who are eventually broken.

It was my intent to stop at three, but today I will be working on the fourth. The fifth, sixth and seventh are already percolating in my brain.
